sETTING

Setting is a very difficult skill to master but a setter is very crucial to the team since they contact the ball almost every single possession. Setters have the option of either bumping the ball to their hitters or setting (overhead passing) the ball.

To Set a Volleyball:

1. Extend your hands above your head with your fingers spread apart like shown in the image to the left. 
2. Feet should be about shoulder-width apart and make sure you are centered under the ball.
3. Push the ball upwards, somewhat cradling the ball out of your hands, while straightening your arms and legs. 
4. The same steps are taken when setting backwards.
